(Sorry couldn't post this earlier with no net from my phone - wrote it earlier though)
T5B: 1) We're going to Tokyo. 2) We got a ride to and from church. 3) The members gave us tons of food. 4) Yasue translated my talk and many people complimented us. (She's amazing!!!) 5) We were able to get all our luggage to the bus stop at the train station in one trip. (5 suitcases, a backpack, and a duffle!)
Morning:
- got up early (felt like too early)
- got ready for church and packed up our gear
- my phone rang and I could hear I got messages but I couldn't open or see them
- couldn't turn off my alarm when it went off (had to powercycle)
- since I wasn't sure what the messages said, we went to the meeting place early
- Fumie was actually late (she messaged and called) so we waited in a blizzard for 20 mins then chased her car down
- luckily the choir was already practicing for the musical number (had a stress attack about not being able to record it last night)
- church started
- I spoke for much longer than I was asked to speak (5 mins -> 15-20 mins - but a lot of that was just translation time)
- other speakers, our choir number that Jerod recorded (YAY!)
Notes: The morning went ok (au didn't even open until an hour after we left so we couldn't do that first). I was just trying not to stress. Like I said above, my oneechan did an AMAZING job translating. She's boss. Many people came up after Sacrament Meeting and thanked us both. One person told me I literally answered the prayer they offered during the Sacrament. I'm so grateful for that experience. Choosing a topic was hard for me but I felt like I had found the one and that was a confirmation to me. :)
Afternoon:
- after the three hours of church, we had a meal with everyone
- a few people gave us gifts (thank you Shinoki-s and other lady in the ward whose name I don't know :/)
- the elders gave me a blessing (for safe travel and good health)
- we sort of killed time after the meeting
Notes: We were at church for seven hours. I was worried the AU store would close at 1700.
Evening:
- I reminded Fumie-s about the AU store and she apologized and we left (at first she told me she was staying longer)
- luckily the store was open
- unluckily they told us there was nothing they could do (;_;)
- luckily there are two apple stores in Tokyo and the apple store is the only place that can handle this issue
- Jerod and I met Yoshiko and chatted for a few hours and hung out with her (it was fun!)
- we went and collected our luggage
- we got to the bus stop, Jerod went to charge his phone, I stayed to guard the bags (watched some anime on my lappy)
- our bus comes at 2305.. we still have a bit of a wait (sigh)
Notes: I have been trying to see the upside. Truly the timing of this phone break is lucky. We are going to Tokyo so I don't have to mail the phone and be without one for who knows how many days. Then I am still under warranty for being under a year. There are two apple stores in Tokyo. Since we can't even check into our hotel until 1400 ANYWAY, it gives us something to do (an adventure)! Hope you all had a great evening empty of worries or strife! XOXO, A
