World Traveler: A day with Limor

T5B: 1) We got to hang out with Limor. 2) We got to go to an onsen. 3) We got to go to the really fancy cake shop. 4) Limor stayed for dinner. 5) We had Thai for lunch with Limor and Bruce.

basal temp: 36.22

First, some stories I forgot from the past. I can't remember if I wrote about when I asked my elementary deaf kids how old they thought I was. LOL A goes, "36." Me: What!? No. A: 22. Me: (laughing) Wrong. A: 40! She loved making me go, "WHAT!?" LOL Then Y goes: 37. LOL I told them 17 and they both freaked. "Eeeeeh!!" Then I told them I really was going to turn 31.

Ok so last night I made burgers (Wednesday) for dinner for Jerod and myself. I got out some Japanese pickles (brined veggies) and then we went in to say prayer. So Jerod is praying over our food and I wanted to lean on his shoulder. I peak to make sure I lean on his shoulder and don't knock us both over. What do I see? Jerod is praying with both eyes open TAKING FOOD OFF MY PLATE. I just stared at him incredulously and when he spotted me he gave me a "oops, caught" look and still put the food on his plate! LOL I closed my eyes and started cracking up. Jerod cracked up too. I have now learned to pray with my hands over my dinner. ;)

Morning:
- we slept in a little
- went to the government offices to ask about my city taxes
- went to the bakery but nothing looked good enough to get
- came home and Jerod read a book while I watched an episode of Supernatural
- Limor said she was on her way

Notes: Dude the government guy... I understood NOTHING he said to me. Sheesh. I don't speak any governmental Japanese apparently. He quoted me a figure ($618) but said he wasn't sure yet if I needed to pay it (fingers crossed) and he asked for my contact information. (LOL as if I will understand him on the phone when I didn't in person!)

Afternoon:
- Limor had bumped into Bruce and invited him to lunch with us (which was totally fine)
- we went and had Thai (really good)
- Bruce hates onsens so he went back to his place and the three of us went to onsen
- Limor and Jerod got along really well (:D)
- we onsened for an hour (Limor were in the outside tub and it snowed on us! So fun!)
- Limor drove us to Tartes des Desmoiselles Tatins (YUM)

Notes: We spent a LONG time at that cake shop chatting. :) When Jerod went to the bathroom Limor told me Jerod was really great and that Jake was jealous she got to meet Jerod before he did. :)

Evening:
- finally go back to mine and we invited Limor to stay for dinner
- I made garlic rice, put cheese on it, then some red curry chicken on top (strange but I thought it was good :D)
- we watched the first episode of the first season of the new Sherlock series
- Limor went home
- Jerod and I were exhausted so we went straight to bed (that's why I didn't post)
