Morning:
- slept in a little (a lot for Jerod because he got sick)
- I worked on uploading pics to my blog
- I played a couple games on my phone
Notes: It was a very laid back morning. (I think we both needed that.)
Afternoon:
- Jerod woke up but felt too sick to go out
- we watched Whose Line videos and the first episode of Dragonball
- killed some time playing games on our phones too
Notes: Again, laidback day.
Evening:
- we walked into town and went to two dollar stores
- we got some drinks ("chocolate milk" and lemon something for Jerod)
- we got some things for our trip (locks for the suitcases and neck pillows for the plane)
- made it to the restaurant
- hung out for four hours with everyone :D
- phone drops and my night became SUPER stressful
Notes: At our table we had: Koichi, Yasue, Saz (Sarah), Marta, Tom, Limor, Jake, Me and then Jerod. At the other table there was: Tim, Ann, Allie, Dean, Kelly, Bug (Brandon), and Francis. The two tables were far enough apart that we didn't have much cross conversation, but we still had a TON of fun! I felt badly for my two Japanese friends (but glad they could speak to each other in Japanese). Everyone had different accents (Ann, Saz, and Tom are from the UK. Allie is from Canada. Limor and Kelly are from Australia. Tim and Bug are from the South. Then the rest of us are from the US. Jake has a SoCal accent and Jerod has a Jersey accent). Then there was the sheer speed of conversation. After about three hours they were looking uncomfortably bored. I didn't want to be rude but I didn't know if they felt obligated to stay. (I was worried if I said, "You can go," it would come off as dismissive.) In any case, finally I did say, "If you need to go, you can leave." Then they both gratefully stood and bowed out. The rest of us stayed another hour. (Oh I had to give a speech too - I was not ready and it was ... ya I did it and that's what counts!) As we were pulling out money to pay, my phone slipped out of my hand. BONG! It hit on a part the case didn't cover and left a small dent. That very small dent destroyed my phone. I can't use it for calls. I can't open my messages. It still goes off but I can't access the thing for which it is chiming. It has been INCREDIBLY stressful. I use my phone for EVERYTHING. And as it turns out, all our info for the hotel... in the phone. Yay? CRAP! So now I don't know how to get to the hotel... I wanted to cry. As I laid in bed, FREAKING OUT, begging the Lord (after my personal and our couple's prayer in which we also asked for help) to help me figure this out, an immense peace settled over me. Just abject panic and worry, gone. Jerod and I planned to go to AU (my phone company) the next morning and get it sorted out. So a stressful night, but we survived it! The dinner was amazing and so fun and Saz gave me a really cool gift! (Ghibli stuff - ohashi and stuffed animals) Hope you all had a more successful day! XOXO, A
