T5B: 1) I don't live near Chokaku Shien (they have MONSTER spiders, *shudders violently*). 2) I got to message Jerod this morning. 3) My lessons went super well (even though one of my girls got hurt :/). 4) It's Friday! 5) I have Monday off. Get this, it's "Gymnastic Day." LOL But, Oikawa-s assured me, "We don't do anything!"
basal temp: 36.65
Morning:
- almost missed my bus :/ (took too long again)
- had a great chat with Jerod (via IM)
- the bus ride was nice
- humidity is cranked today
1st - taught WH games, went well!
2nd - prep, tried Japanese style calligraphy for the first time!
3rd - elem lesson, went really well
4th - prep
Notes: The WH games went REALLY well IMO. One boy said, "Next week!" since we didn't finish our board game. :) Oh man, explaining two truths and a lie was ROUGH. LOL But they got it and it was fun! -- Elem was a blast. I went 25 minutes early and hid "people" everywhere. They had a face and a name and when you flipped it over it said, "I like _______ (noun)." With the noun I had the Japanese and the katakana (pronunciation). The kids had to say, "What do you like?" (our target structure) and then flip the person over and find out. We played bingo and then blackout. Oh man they LOVED the game. They were running around like crazy people! In fact, that's when one of my girls got hurt. A turned too quickly and caught I in the neck with her pencil. She gave her a really bad scrape. :( After we did that, we went and interviewed the junior high school teachers (so they could practice their English with someone other than each other and me). Then we went back to the classroom and they wrote three things they liked down. I gathered their papers and mixed them up. I had them ask me, "What do you like?" And then I would read their paper. Then they had to guess who had said what. :) We went a little over time to finish, but it was really fun. :) They walked me out and I'm glad it went so well! (Kawai-s told me this morning that I was .. creative? Something alone those lines. :D YAY! I am BLESSED is the truth of the matter.)
Afternoon:
- lunch was good, got some chocolate at the school MMMM
5th-6th - more prep time during which I wanted to work but couldn't make myself (I had a fun time chatting with Kawai-s. :D)
- forgot to mention TYPHOON! (been POURING, and I mean POURING since .. 10 am?)
- caught the bus home
- stopped by the store to grab something and then by the postoffice/bank
Notes: --
Evening:
- got to talk to Jerod for an hour :)
- watched an episode of Gintama
- mostly spaced out (I'm so tired, lol - slap happy now)
- plans? space out until bed time
Notes: I got an email back from the doctor (told her I'm still nauseous and in a ton of pain. She suggested prescribing an estrogen and progesterone (sp?) pill. It seems like PCOS is caused in part by too much estrogen. So I feel like progesterone would help, but any added estrogen would put me in a worse state. Anyone care to weigh in?). Just what the heck body!? I've thought a few times, "Maybe it's actually a kidney stone!" But for how long I've had it, no blood in my urine, I drink lots of water... :/ Hey, I'm still alive and I have a long weekend, YAY! Love you! XOXO, A
P.S. I can't remember if I ever mentioned this: When I showed up at MM on October 3rd, there was a letter on my desk. It was in Japanese then in (poor - it's pretty funny actually) English. It stated that Shizukuishi (a neighboring city) was setting up to show ALTs around. They are going to have a tour bus and also a home stay! I've been VERY curious about Japanese home life and the cost was only 1000 yen (a little over $10), so I said yes! I filled the paper out right away (they only take so many people) and Hashimoto-s faxed it for me (hence why I remember the exact date). It's November 9 & 10. I may miss church because of it :/ but I figured this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Oh! There was a blank: Foods you can't eat... oh man I thought long and hard about that one. What am I unwilling to eat? In the end, I only put my actually allergies. Hopefully they don't have the "great idea" to serve me bugs. (Not that I think they would... just sayin)
Some of my Elem kids' "I likes" - so cute! :D |
My first attempt at calligraphy (the first kanji is heart, the second is dragon and the third (poorly written) is fireworks) |
Check out the bottom of the screen - that's a "name" I was supposed to spell, lol! The other are ones like "James, Bubbles" - Oh I also got one "Dickey." Japanese games are funny! |
I meant what I texted about you being a miracle. I admire and love you.
ReplyDeleteThanks Maman! I love and admire you too! I hope school is going well. XOXOXO!!!
