T5B: 1) I got to see my Deaf kids again! It's been a couple weeks and I really missed them! 2) A (who has been absent a lot) was here today and she said she really liked my lesson. 3) My jhs lesson was really fun and the students had fun too (which made me ridiculously happy). 4) One of the teachers at the school saved the day! (Saved my day and my lesson!) 5) I finished that one worksheet and made another. Now I can relax and enjoy my weekend!
basal temp: 36.22
Morning:
- had REALLY strange dreams
- woke up before my alarm went off (as usual)
- got ready
- bus ride was ok (sat by two smokers and the smell made me ill)
1st - taught my jhs students (3a2)
2nd - prep, worksheet making
3rd - taught my elem students (5,6年 ~year)
4th - prep period I used to relax (work finished)
Notes: I played a game with my junior high school students that was really fun. They are learning, "Can I/Can you" so for the game, I made two dice. One was verbs and the other nouns. On verbs: close, open, pick up, put down, touch, hug. On nouns: a desk, your pencil, a window, a door, a book, and a chair. We got some really great combinations. One girl was asked, "Can you open a chair?" Since they are not folding chairs, she couldn't. She made a big show of trying though. :) They asked us (the teachers) as well - it was REALLY fun. They're so bright and funny! Even the boy who dislikes English had fun. And on his worksheet, he wrote (as his production) "Miss Ito (the JTE), can I teach English?" Aww yay! :D -- In my elem class, the girl who has been absent a bunch recently was back. She gave me a big hug as did the other girl, I. They tried to get my little boy to hug me and he fought like crazy - I gave him a very brisk handshake. :) Anyway, A, the girl who has been gone a bunch said she enjoyed today's lesson. :) I'm so glad! I felt like today had fallen a little flat so I'm glad she enjoyed it. :) They all walked me out as usual. <3
Afternoon:
lunch - ate lunch
5th - taught another group of jhs students (3a1 - there are 6 groups in all though two usually get combined)
- talked to Sugita-sensei
- bus ride home was nice
- had a missed delivery notice!
- called and was able to get it redelivered myself! :D
Notes: 5th period was SO fun and funny! The students were learning how to order food (I will call them G1 ~girl 1~ and G2). So we practiced some dialogue, I had them take out sentences (so they could memorize some of it). After that, I had them make their own menus. I made mine as well. My menu: "Favorite Breakfast" - pickles, popcorn, cheese, "Yellow Lunch" - mustard, lemon, eggs, "Liquid Dinner" - water, soup, black pepper water. The girls were freaking out. "Eeeee!! Japanese Japanese" - but their faces were GREAT! So I went first (they were my customers - as well as Kanako/Ito-sensei). G1 asked for the lunch special so I told them lemon. G1 ordered eggs, G2 eggs, and K-s ordered mustard. I asked the girls how they wanted their eggs (scrambled). Then I asked for any additional orders. K-s asked for lemon, G1 for lemon, and G2 declined. I asked them what sauce they wanted on their lemon. After a short pause... soy sauce! LOL We had a laugh about it. Then G2 offered us her menu. K-s and I both ordered a salad. She asked us about dressing. I said lemon, then as K-s was thinking, I said, "Soy sauce?" She quickly agreed and we all laughed again. Then G1 got up and showed us her menu. Milk was on the menu and K-s and G2 ordered milk. I ordered ...(thinking) scrambled eggs. G1 asked G2 how she wanted her milk (cold or hot - tsumetai or atatakai). G2 said "hot" but I heard "cold." So it sounded like: G2: cold. G1: Ok, hot. Me: Whaaaa!? (a la minion) LOL I misheard. Then Kanako-sensei said she wanted something added to her milk. As she floundered I briefly considered saying "soy sauce (lol)," but then suggested, "Chocolate!" She thought that was a great idea. "I would like chocolate in my milk." G1: No sorry. At the end of the ordering, G1 asked, "Anything else?" Kanako-s, "Yes! Chocolate milk!" G1, "No, no!" Me, "Can >I< have chocolate milk?" She laughed and said no. It was a REALLY fun lesson. We were laughing the whole time. So much fun! -- So Sugita-s asked about my health and I said my pain was going down a little and the kampo medicine makes me really nauseous. "I'm feeling a little better though." "That's too bad." LOL I had to school my face quickly as I wanted to burst out laughing. She didn't mean it the way it sounded. But funny.
Evening:
- my package (letter) is delivered!
- watched an episode of Gintama
- ate dinner (took my kampo ~ still makes me SO nauseous :/)
- got to message Jerod for a little bit
- talked to Limor on the phone
Notes: So the package: Jerod sent me two cards, a handwritten letter, and a necklace (with little chili peppers!). :,) One of the cards made me cry. I got permission to share what it says (printed - I won't read what he wrote -- the other card was funny), "I don't ever want to take you for granted ... I don't ever want to forget what it was like before you or how it would be without you. I don't want to ever forget our first kiss or our last touch, or let a day go by without telling you how much you mean to me, how deeply I love you, and how much I need you. I don't ever want you to doubt the way I feel or how much happier I am because of you. I love you." Made me cry again. The things that he wrote were very sweet and I really appreciate the letter as well. It was a great day for me. I hope it was for you too. XOXO, A
P.S. Forgot to credit Jerod for sending me those two funny rap videos.
I did not sleep so well last night - tons of weird dreams |
