T5B: 1) I got to catch up with Limor. 2) I got off the earliest I have ever gotten off work. 3) Tutoring was really good. 4) I got to watch some some FA. 5) I still have my little pad (since the air mattress has sprung a leak :/).

Today started pretty well. I woke up an hour before my alarm went off, and though I had fallen asleep late I was less tired waking of my own accord than having my alarm wake me. I laid in bed until it was time to get up, then I got up and got ready. I'm SO glad I was to the bus stop early as today is the first time the bus was early. It was 2 minutes early and luckily I was there since it didn't wait until the time it's SUPPOSED to show up to leave! So anyone who was "on time" missed the bus. :/ The bus ride was super fast! I was going to read but didn't get a chance to do so. However, it meant that I was early for the morning meeting. I waited so long that I thought maybe we weren't having a meeting! Nope, the bus was just super early all morning. After the meeting I brainstormed a little and killed a little time looking up information on the net. I meant to take a picture of my beautiful handiwork tonight but as it's getting really late (Limor and I talked for a VERY long time) I will do it tomorrow. In any case, I worked on my lesson for Friday at Chokaku Shien. Thus far, it's the only lesson on my plate this week. I could stop where I am now and have plenty of material but I will come up with more tomorrow. I have time.
Since it's exams, school ends at noon for the students. I was pretty hungry so I grabbed my lunch at that time. Oops. It was cleaning time. So I set my lunch down and got to work helping. This time, a couple teachers were really helpful. :) After that, I washed my hands and ate my lunch. I was going to play it by ear, as I mentioned yesterday, but the teachers all started to leave for a meeting at one. Now, I could have just done whatever at my desk for an hour, but instead I asked about leaving at one. They okayed it and off I went to wait for the bus. It was HOT outside. I've never left during the hottest time of the day! Also since it was earlier I wasn't in the shade since the sun hadn't moved far enough across the sky yet. HOWEVER, I had several students saying goodbye to me and waving at me enthusiastically as they left school. :D Makes me feel so great that they like me! It's not necessary for teaching, but it is a great help! (Also I'm not teaching to be liked, but as I said, it helps.)
When I got home, I was really ADD. I would watch a few minutes of FA, then I would play on my phone, then I would walk around my apartment, then I would grab a glass of water, watch some more show, etc. I was like a pinball. I'm pretty tired for how much time I got to spend here! Around 1800, I got ready and went to my tutoring appointment. We had a really good time and I got to ask some more about Japanese. :D I'm so grateful for an inquisitive mind. After tutoring, I came back home and told Limor I was here. (She had called during tutoring.) We then talked for two hours (I hope she doesn't mind but after about 10-20 minutes, I'm worn out. I'm not much of a phone person. So I switch to the "Uh huh. Oh ya? Oh." kinds of statements. Sometimes I feel like talking on the phone is a soul-sucking exercise.) Now I am typing this in a rush. :/ I can't find my notes about today's happenings either. So I might add some more information about today in tomorrow's post. All the best! XOXO, A
another thing that makes Japan great - a/c vents that you can control on the bus (at least directionally) |
