Easy Day

Happy Birthday to my ANJO!!!! XOXOXOXOXO I hope it's wonderful and stop smashing your face with car doors. >: l

Insect count: some flies at CS that were very bold and trying to land on my eyes! Seriously.

T5B: 1) I had very vivid, but good dreams. :D 2) Teaching ASL to my Deaf kids went SO well! And they loved the game too! 3) I got more sleep! 4) I had things to do when I got home, but put them aside to rest because I felt so lousy. So my good thing here is I'm taking care of myself (or at least trying to do so). 5) Two of my BFFs emailed me today.

basal temp: 36.29

I fell asleep fairly quickly last night, mmm, but then I woke up quite a few times. My dreams were EXTREMELY vivid and I remembered two of them when I was awake from 430-530 and then when my alarm went off at 620 I could remember three of them. Now I can only remember two, but they were good dreams. :) I was pretty tired when I got up, but not as tired as yesterday! So thank goodness for that. I was slow getting ready so I decided to read scriptures on the bus and did that. The bus ride was nice, and the walk to the school was suzushii (cool - weather). By comparison, the teacher's room was really hot! But I got used to it pretty quickly. Since I am correcting compositions next week at MM (during the students' end of term exams), I had no lessons to plan. Instead I brought the rest of my blank CDs and my laptop. I knew Sugita-sensei likes Backstreet Boys so I asked her what discs she had. She wasn't sure so I asked her if I could make her an mp3 with BSB and other bands like them for her. She was so excited! (I LOVE music!) When I handed it to her she asked me about money and I told her no way, it was a gift. Then Kawai-sensei asked about my favorite band. EEEEEEEEEEE!! So then I went off about SoaD (System of a Down). I played a little bit for her and I don't know if she was humoring me, but she said it was cool. I asked her if I could also make her an mp3. I put 151 of my favorite songs on there. Sheesh it's got everything from AC/DC to Alice in Chains to The Band Perry to Yves Duteil to Chicago, Eagles, Boston, Soad (of course), Death Cab, Soundgarden, Sugar Cult, Audioslave, Coldplay, Crossfade, "Weird" Al....as I said, I LOVE music. I gave her a sample of every genre I have (I think). I hope she likes it. :D As I was making that, class time came so I dropped it and went to teach ASL to my jhs kids.

I've FINALLY learned, with these kids I have to FOCUS and simplify. I love what I do and end up overloading them (I have done with, on accident, with pretty much everyone I have ever tutored/taught. It's hard for me to reign in my enthusiasm). So I picked five sentences to teach them in ASL: My name is..., I am ____ years old, My favorite color is ____, I like _____, and Nice to meet you! Of course, the sentences were in ASL structure, but ya. I taught them how to sign their names and then we did ages and went back and did name and then age. Then we did color, and went back and did name, age, color, etc. So they got to practice many times. Then I had everyone do a jikoshoukai (self-introduction) in ASL. The school has a student teacher and I had her get up as well as both JTEs. :) Then another teacher was wandering by (well watching our lesson) and the kids dragged her in and made her introduce herself. :D I hope they showed off in the dorms tonight. Then we played a game with colors. I had to pick a game simple enough to explain and for them to be able to play. So I did "Red Light, Green Light" but with various colors. I wrote "Stop" and "Go" on the board and then would put up the paper for the colors and show them which went with which. Oh man, they had a BLAST. It was so fun to see them getting so creative and being such good sports about being sent back. I played quite a few rounds as well as Kanako-s. It was really fun. I'm so blessed! (At some point, families came in but I barely noticed them as I was focused on my students. I had them move out of the way for our game. :/ Hope they weren't offended. Then they took off at some point during the game. *shrug* They could have played! Oh well. After the bell rang, I went back to the hs teachers room.

I finished the CD for Kawai-s just in time (my laptop battery was almost dead). She started listening to it and I couldn't help singing along. Such great music! I told her we should karaoke or have a dance party at lunch. She just laughed at me. LOL When lunch started I ducked to go back to the jhs teachers' room and showed them my Sansa video (with my last bit of battery). They were all exclaiming over it and said I did so well. I'm such a show-off. :/ It was just SO fun and really cool and I wanted to share it with them. :D Then I went back to the hs and had my lunch. After lunch, with only one class next week slated (maybe two - I'll find out by Wed), I killed time by reading stories online on my phone. No one seemed upset about it. I just didn't want to plan my lesson and have absolutely NOTHING to do next week at MM. PLUS the week after next, I am getting the second graders. So that week I will be doing a self introduction. And the lesson for the first graders? I made it last week. Yep. I also have another in reserve. (I like to plan ahead.) That following Monday is a holiday too and I also have that Friday off as CS has something - they won't have any classes for me to teach. Sugita-s said Interac okayed me having that day off to go to CS's school festival (which will be on a Saturday) in October. I actually asked for that - not that I like them better than my MM students or anything, I just have a special place in my heart for them. I wanted to be there and I'm not allowed to go unless Interac authorizes it. That's why I asked Sugita-s to call Interac and suggest to them (as her idea) that they wanted to give me the 20th off in exchange for me coming to their school festival in October. And it worked! YEEHAW! Anyway, that week will be long (just because I won't have that whole Saturday to relax), but I'm excited to go to CS's festival. :) Okay, sorry that was long.

Soon it was time for me to leave and I said my goodbyes. I walked to the bus (it was hot - but at least not very humid) stop and the bus ride home was nice. When I got home I stopped by the bakery as I am having my HT over on Sunday. I then came home. Oh man, shortly after I got here (and I had errands to run) I laid down and was down for the count. I didn't sleep, but I got EXTREMELY nauseous and lightheaded. And this was LYING DOWN! I had a snack, hoping that would help, but nothing. Later I had some dinner but it has made me feel more nauseous. Tell you what, I'm SICK of being SICK! Hopefully the doctor will DO something tomorrow. I ended up watching some Fullmetal Alchemist (anime) and just trying to focus on feeling well and for my head to stop spinning. Oh! I also got to email my BFFs. :D I'm EXHAUSTED now, ready to crash. But since I am getting up early to go to the doctor (luckily Yasue and Shinoki are giving me a ride), I would rather shower tonight and sleep in a little bit tomorrow. (I sleep better when it's light out because I feel safer). I don't know if I'll last that long for how tired I am and how much I'm yawning. I also need to do laundry. Hope you are all doing super well! XOXO, A

the gift from Shinoki-Shimai I promised to show you. I just ... I just ... yes
