Today was a really weird day. It was surreal ~ as though the whole thing were a dream. Probably lack of sleep. This morning I got up, ate some breakfast and then did some reading until it was time to go to lunch with Limor. She and her boyfriend had come to Morioka to pick up his car that was in the shop. We walked to a Jajamen place and had lunch there. It was REALLY good. So now I've had one of the three famous noodle dishes in Iwate! :) Jajamen has noodle and vegetables and miso and you mix that up and eat it, but not all of it. Then when you have a little bit left, you crack an egg into your bowl (raw), and then they put in some hot water/broth that mostly cooks the egg. It was really good ~ just a teeny bit slimy from the egg. Shingo knew the place. So yay! Now I have to try reiman and wankosoba. :) After lunch, we walked further into town. Shingo went to get his hair cut and Limor and I went to a cafe. We chatted and had a good time. After that we all walked back to my place. I went inside to put my hair up and then left on my bike to go to a language school where Lina (a friend here) was teaching several of us how to put on yukatas. :) I'm so glad I am a fast learner. She's letting me borrow a yukata and some hair things for Sansa. :) She also lent me some bachi! (The drumsticks for taiko.) Now all I need is an obi... Ann was wearing a yukata she said she bought for 500 yen!! SHEESH! I hope I can find one at that price later on. That would be wonderful. :) I had fun with those ladies. Afterwards, I pedaled to my local bakery. I usually like to go on Fridays but got home too late yesterday. I grabbed a new treat I hadn't yet tried and as I was waiting to cross the street I saw two of my third graders! They were on the opposite corner. I was worried they wouldn't want to say hello to me so I didn't really look their way. Then I noticed they were both starting at me (and I wore my school shirt today ~ support!) so I waved and they both energetically waved back! I thought (now I'm not sure) one of them was the one who was in that youtube video so I made guitar motions which they both did back. Then I felt really dumb. LOL In any case, when the light changed I took off. I didn't want to wait for them and be ignored or force them to feel like they had to talk to me or... AARGH! Why does my brain do this to me!? So I went home and I hope they don't feel ignored. I wasn't ignoring them. I was doing what I thought would let them off the hook. When I got home, I ate some dinner, then I felt really crappy, then I just sort of vegged. It's been a strange day. As I said before, it feels like I'm in some dream. I don't care for the feeling. I hope tomorrow passes better. (Maybe the break came just in time? Overworked? ~ All day I kept realizing it was Saturday and panicking because how could it be Saturday!? And just ... weird stuff.) Anyway, I hope I get some good and restful sleep tonight. Love you all! XOXO, A

this time I put it on all by myself! yokatta! |
You look so awesome and pretty in your yokatta! What a gorgeous daughter I have. Get some sleep and try to relax a little. I think your TZ feeling is from over stress and too little sleep. Sending you love and hugs!

:) Yokatta is "was good" - yukata is the robe. :) ~ Remember that story I told about when Tom went to the hospital? LOL Way back at the beginning of April? So funny! ~ I'm hoping the stress goes down and I am able to sleep well. :) XOXO
