Top 5 blessings: 1) Other Interac employees are still in town so I got a ride to the pet store and was able to get food and a plant for Donut. 2) Donut lived until I was able to get him food. (Not to insinuate he's now dead - but he held out until I was able to get him food. :) ) 3) I got to do some reading today. 4) Abbey and Tara are on their way right now! 5) It was a rainy overcast day.
Today started out well. I woke up, played some games on my phone, and got ready. Then I got a ride to a pet store (which was across town so I REALLY appreciate the ride - it would have taken me 3 hours on my bike ~ round trip). We asked for the beta food, and as I was grabbing several packets of it suddenly a spider appears. I yelled and practically ran away. LOL That's enough food! Then I got Donut a little plant since I found out he IS a beta and he would kill any buddy put in there with him. :/ Still, we have each other! :D As soon as I got back, I pulled out some food and put it in his little tank. He gobbled most of it up. I felt bad I had to have him wait but so happy it was the right food. He seems to really like the plant too. At first he stayed at a distance as if saying, "What in the!? How did a small forest just APPEAR!?" But he's been swimming around it and behind it and touching the leaves with his little fish nose so I think they're friends now. :) It's a good thing I didn't get a bigger plant! ~ I almost did not remembering the actually size of this tiny tank. Oops. Still, now he has food and his own little jungle/hiding place. :)
After Donut was fed, I fed myself and then sat down and wrote my blog for yesterday. (Sorry again!) When that was done, I turned to relaxing and reading. I haven't really walked around the actually SITES of Morioka yet but I am waiting to do that with the McDonald girls. Oh! I wonder if I could post that picture of the gifts I got them... I don't THINK they'll check my blog at their hotel... I think I'll chance it. And if you guys are reading this, no peeking! Anyway, I read some funny teacher stories and part of a novel I got from Aiina. Then I made and ate dinner and then did some more reading/candy crush saga playing (my day pretty much revolves around my lives refilling on that game, lol). I was hoping to catch a bff online today but no such luck. :/ It sort of feels like the longer I'm here, the more I'm forgotten at home. (Other than my family) Outta sight, outta mind I guess. Still I'm super stoked to have those girls getting to Morioka tomorrow. I told Shawn they were coming and how I was going to go to church tomorrow and he said if he's still in city tomorrow and they arrive in the morning, he'll pick them up from the station. I thought that was a very kind offer. I believe they will take the Tohoku line (regular train) which means they'll have a 10 hour train ride. If they take the shinkansen (the bullet train), it will be 2.5 hours. HUGE difference. In any case, I will find out when they get in tonight or tomorrow morning. (EEE! I looked over at Donut and he's hiding in his plant. I think he loves it! :D)
In any case, uneventful evening. :) I'm excited for the girls to get here and for us to plan the things we will do and see in Morioka and in surrounding areas! I wish I had a car. :/ Then we could go to more places and faster. :/ Oh well, it is what it is. I hope you all have a great evening/day! Much love! XOXO, A
