I am soo efficient!

Insect count: 1 little flying bug

I am feeling incredibly accomplished today. My accomplishment is even more impressive to me because it was pretty hot today. I got 8 hours of sleep (hallelujah) so when I woke up I wasn't frustrated (mmm). I showered and did some reading. Around noon I got out of the house to go to the bank and then to meet Ann at the station. We had lunch at Murahachi because Maruyama-s works there. I was so excited to see her (as I haven't seen her since April). Ya... today was her day off! ARGH! The food was REALLY good though. I had chicken katsu that was so tender and juicy. I tried to leave the crossword puzzles she requested from me with her coworkers but they wouldn't accept them. They told me the next day she worked was Thursday. Ya, I have training Thursday. *sigh* Oh well. Small world though. Ann and I are sitting there chatting and eating and suddenly Mina walks in! (My tutor!) She was with her mother or grandmother I think. I introduced Mina to Ann but then there was no reciprocal introduction. *shrug* That's ok. :)

After lunch was over, I looked around Jupiter with Ann (well, we were both in there at the same time) ~ this is the store that imports foreign foods. Everything is really expensive though so I ended up leaving empty handed. That reminds me, did I tell you this story?: Oikawa-s walked up to me during one lunch and asked, "Where do you buy your American food?" I was terribly confused as I DON'T buy American food here and I thought he might mean home and in the meantime my facial expression is one of confusion. So he clarifies, "Where do you buy your food?" "Maruichi." "They have American food!?" "No." "What do you buy then?" "Uh... Japanese food. I figured since I'm in Japan I will take advantage of that and eat Japanese food. Sometimes I can't read the packages, but I get help if I need it." He seemed completely mystified. He then told me about Jupiter. I told him I had been there before but ironically I usually bought Australian food (Tim Tams). LOL Funny conversation for me.

On the way home I stopped at Candy (a hyaku-en shop). I bought a bath mat, some more organizing stackers, paper, bleach, some grapefruit incense, and flip flops (for Sansa). Once again I did not find the magnets I wanted and I was unable to find tabi socks (that I also need for Sansa). However, all is well. I will get them later. My closet looks much better now. The 9 stackers just weren't quite enough as the space when they are stacked is small so some of my clothing just didn't fit. I had planned on going grocery shopping today (if I wanted to eat dinner I had to do so, lol) but riding in the heat was getting me down. However there was a cool wind (mmm) and I kept telling myself, "You can do this. You survived the worst of the Argentina summer and this is cooler." And I was right. I stopped by my place to drop off the stuff and went right back out to the grocery store. I bought a bunch of food (since I had run out of pretty much everything) and even grabbed a new thing to try. ~ I saw some frozen cheese-stuffed tonkatsu! LOL I would have gotten it but I'm not a HUGE fan of pork. I plan on getting it later some time though.

I pedaled home with all that stuff, grabbed my fan and turned it on in the kitchen to cool me down as I put everything away. I then threw in a load of laundry. The washer was pretty full (it's very small), but I figured having water poured all over it wouldn't fail to get everything wet. Well, I was wrong. Some of the things I pulled out of the wash were still partially dry! It was mind blowing for me. I ended up smelling everything I pulled out and putting back the stuff that smelled and obviously hadn't received a good wash. While that was going I msged and hung up the other laundry to dry. (Last week I got a bar that I put up in my shower and hung most of my shirts up in the bathroom to dry. That will help keep the humidity down in my main room.) I did some reading and ate some popcorn. Oh I also turned on my dehumidifier for a bit when I got home to also help me to cool down. I was thinking about it today and I have no idea how we're going to cram 4 people in this tiny place! LOL The McDonald girls will have to stack their luggage in the kitchen maybe.

Side note: that blood blister I popped before? I popped it for another reason: I wanted it to be gone. And it is! Yay.

Now I am going to do some practicing and scripture reading. I hope you all have a wonderful day. (And that it's less confusing than mine. I had to finally consult my phone as I couldn't figure out if it was Tuesday or Wednesday. LOL) XOXO, A

this is a little sesame seed grinding bowl ~ Ann and I were each given one and looked at one another as if to ask, "Now what?" I said, "I'm assuming we grind them up." We watched a little old lady sitting next to us. Sure enough she ground hers up so we happily did so. Afterwards we asked, "Now what?" LOL Then we saw that she put a little bit in each of her sauce spaces (that dish you see in front of the bowl - there were three gaps). So I put some in with my soy sauce, some with my miso tonkatsu sauce, and some with my plain katsu sauce. I asked for spicy sauce and they gave me some spices. I put some of those in each little holder as well. And then I put some on my katsu. Ya, I love spicy food. LOL

    1. I know, right!? Jerod got our mortar and pestle and that thing was way more useful than I thought it would be when we registered for it. Now here is a less cumbersome way to replace it! I want to buy one of my own at some point. :)
