The key to a new haircut is the straightening

T5B: 1) Anjo is a peach and helped me out. :) 2) People finally started to notice my hair cut in DROVES! 3) Kanamori-sensei made me laugh this morning (as well at the VP and the principal when I recounted her story). 4) All my lessons went well today. 5) I fixed a worksheet (for tomorrow) and sketched out another.

Stories I forgot from yesterday: Kanamori-sensei pointed out one of the posters at the cooking with English on it. The English was incorrect. I told her what it should say, next thing I know she's calling over one of our hosts and telling them their poster is wrong. I was like, "Hush! It's ok!" LOL In any case, when we passed that bulletin board later the poster was gone. I feel badly about that! Oops. -- Second, I got an email last night that was entitled, "Re: you paycheck." That made me quite worried, however it said that I will be paid slightly ahead of schedule and warned us that many ATMs go down for maintenance work over the holidays so to be sure we got enough money beforehand.

Morning:
- woke up tired (sheesh - BUT I DID get more sleep)
- decided to straighten my hair today (took a WHOLE lot less time than it would have in the past)
1st - prepped and made copies, saw my best student get yelled at (broke my heart - he cried)
2nd - taught 1.3, lesson was awesome (my best student didn't show up :c)
3rd - taught 2.6, it was AWESOME
4th - taught 1.2, they were DEAD today but the lesson went well

Notes: When I got in this morning, Toki-sensei goes, "Wow!!! Haircut! It's so great!" :) -- This morning Kanamori-sensei asked me if I had eaten some of my banana cake. I told her I had some last night. She then went on to tell me she had some last night AND some for breakfast this morning. I ratted her out to Moniwa-sensei later (VP), lol. She's so fun to tease and so cute. I love that lady! -- On the way to 1.3 I told Mr. Hashimoto about my plan to make origami over the break for the students (as my farewell present) and asked if I could put "<3 Ann." He was shocked at my question. In fact he answered quite dramatically. "I'm pretty sure you are not at risk for the students saying, '(grabs chest/heart)OH! Ann LOOOOOVES me!!!'" Me: .... LOL Then I explained about how in the US the system is against the teacher and teachers have to be SUPER vigilant (not even just careful but vigilant). In any case, YAY! I can write my little heart. -- At the end of 1.3 we had time to play fruit basket. The students were going NUTS. LOL It was awesome to watch. On the way back to the teacher's room Hashimoto-sensei says, "The students were very childish today." LOL -- When I walked into 2.6 (this is a class with only four girls) the boys start wolf whistling and calling out, "Whoa! Sexy!!! Kami wo kitta!" (Haircut - [you] cut your hair) I tossed my hair around because I think I was blushing and didn't want them to see that. LOL Funny boys! -- In 1.2, when I walked in, I opened the door wrong and smashed three of my knuckles. Instant pain. My middle finger knuckle, being the biggest, got the worst hit and now it's red and purple and mada itai! (still hurts!) -- My other one negative story from this morning is that I had a full blown panic attack in 1.3. The lesson was going great, the students were on task, and then I'm hyperventilating, I can't feel my face (luckily I didn't burst into tears) but it was terrifying. It also was terrifying for me because I had two more classes to teach and was worried I'd start panicking there too. :/ Yuck.

Afternoon:
- there was a meeting right after fourth period... no idea what about
- saw some students during cleaning time, they admired my haircut
- one of the VPs (Sato-san) noticed my haircut and complimented me (and apologized for not noticing sooner, lol)
- finally got to eat lunch! yum!
- corrected worksheets, fixed my wkst for tmw, planned another one for next week

Evening:
- got home
- made dinner
- messaged Jerod for a little bit
- read
- played a couple games
- remembered in a panic about my wksts
- been panicking on and off all night :/ I don't like it!

Notes: Happy Wednesday to you all! I'm so glad the week is almost over and that I only have one more week before Christmas break. The lack of sleep plus now the onset of panic attacks... I'm feeling so vulnerable right now. Still, my students are awesome and I'm trying to keep it together for them. Love you all! XOXO, A

P.S. Mom I would love to make that cake for you (though I would approach putting it together differently) HOWEVER I would need help translating the ingredients and instructions. :/ They're all in Japanese!

As you can see, the top knuckle of my middle finger got it the worst - I'm sure it will sprout some colors later and will post when it does :)
